Sandgrouse Scene Plate

This is a superb Art Nouveau / Jugendstil period plate made by KPM in the early 20th century. The plate is hand painted with a superb scene in the center of a pair of birds sitting in a nice landscape. I think they are some sort of sand grouse but not sure. The rim is decorated with raised gold scrolls and leaf / floral decorations and a slightly greenish / yellowish ground color between the scrolls which is hard to see in the pictures. A truly superb plate and it is in superb condition with some very minor use wear. The piece is 1.125 inches tall and 9.75 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter as well as the red orb mark, the iron cross as well as a painter's mark and the usual impressed marks, etc. of the period.
