Dolphin Cup & Saucer

This is a cup and saucer made by KPM between 1823 and 1832. It is handpainted with a super detailed gold and blue design of grape leaves and vines. Each leaf has the detail edged into it to make it look real. The handle is in the shape of a dolphin which is pretty rare. The set is in great condition - no chips, etc. but there is some wear to the gilding in particular to one side of the cup where there is a large spot of about 0.5 by 0.375 inches missing with two spots next to it. Also a tiny chip to the saucer that doesn't show when on display as it is mostly to the back. The cup is 3 inches tall plus the handle top and 3.125 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 5.25 inches in diameter. Both are marked underneath with the underglaze blue scepter as well as impressed numbers 27 and I on the saucer and a blue triangle which is the artist mark. Saucer is also marked with the rare red eagle mark used to show that it was painted by KPM before they started using the red orb mark. The cup has an impressed I and the blue triangle mark as well and also the red eagle mark but it is mostly worn off. You can still see it though.
