Art Deco Bowl

This is a bowl made by KPM in about 1941. It is called a Rohtrautschale and was created by Gerhard Gollwitzer in 1936. It is decorated in relief on the outside which is left unglazed and the inside is glazed so it can be used. The decoration is of deer and and people on stylized horses riding around the bowl. There is also some trees and flowers. It is a really neat design. The color is celadon which has a slightly green hue. Most of these are white so the greenish tint is a nice touch. The bowl is 4.75 inches tall and 9.125 inches in diameter. It is in perfect condition and marked underneath with the blue scepter as well as impressed marks HA and the greek letter pi which would date it to 1941 with two dots next to it.
