Damaskus Service Dish

This is a rare small serving dish or gravy boat from the famous Damaskus Service made by KPM in 1905 for the personal use of Kaiser Wilhelm II . It is a really nice design based on 18th century Chinese lotus blossom designs and superbly hand painted with lots of detail. A handle to either side as shown. The dish and underplate are one piece and do not come apart. I have had a few pieces from this service over the years but never a serving dish so that is definitely something special. The piece is in perfect condition which is always a plus! What makes this piece special besides being a nicely done piece is the fact that it was made for Kaiser Wilhelm II and has his personal monogram on the underside! The dish is 3.25 inches tall, about 10.5 inches wide and 6.25 inches deep. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter, the red orb as well as a red artist marks on the foot ring and impressed marks common to the early 20th century pieces. And off course the WR under a crown and the year 1905 under that in blue. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1749
