Cobalt Blue & Apple Scene Plate

This is a plate made by KPM in the beginning of the 20th century (1913) in the Art Nouveau / Jugendstil period. One does not find many pieces by them with this deep cobalt blue ground color along the rim with the raised gilding to it so they are always a nice find. This one here has a scene of two apples including their blossoms and leaves in the center. The rim design is stunning and makes the entire plate just look super elegant! I have another one of these where the name of the apple - Alexander is written in black on the back. The plate is in great condition with some very minor use marks but it displays perfectly. It is just over 1 inch tall and 8.25 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter as well as the red orb mark and the usual impressed marks as well as painter's marks plus their anniversary mark for 1913. A superb plate! Please email me for more information or other pictures.
