Ceres Service Dessert Plate #2

This is a superb reticulated plate made by KPM in the later 20th century. The plate is from the famous Ceres Service designed by Theodor Schmuz-Baudiss for the 150 year anniversary of the manufactory. It is the most famous of the Jugendstil services I believe and the name comes from the Roman goddess of fertility and agriculture. Hence the cornucopias, etc. This plate here is the reticulated version which is really nice and hard to find! The plate is in perfect condition which helps :) It is 1 inch tall and 8.75 inches in diameter. The set was first designed in 1912 for the anniversary of the manufactory. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter mark, the red orb and some black painter's marks as shown. Hole in the foot ring for hanging. A truly superb piece! Price is $499
