Copper Beech Tree Design Plate

This is a great plate made by KPM in the early 20th century. It has a simple and elegant shape to it with a gold trim to the edge and a really well done hand painted tree branch with its leaves design. This tree branch is from the Copper Beech tree. Nice purple tone leaves and some green ones in the background. Not the most exciting plate in the world but very elegant and better than always having flowers on them! I have not seen one in this style before. The plate is in perfect condition which is always a bonus! It is 8.625 inches in diameter so a nice size and 1 inch tall. The plate is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter, the red orb mark as well as a number of painter's and gilder's marks as shown. No impressed marks so this would date it to 1900. The back also has the name of the motif to it - Blutbuche which would translate to blood beech but it is called Copper beech here. Someone has added a hanger to the back and sanded the area underneath the glue and near it a bit so there are some scratches there as shown. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $399
