Cobalt Blue & Cherub Scene Perfume Egg

This is a very rare perfume bottle / flakon in the shape of an egg made by KPM in the late 19th or early 20th century. Rare to find one with the cobalt blue ground color which is stunning! The perfume egg is hand painted with a superb cherubs frolicking in the clouds scene in the front. The scene is surrounded by a superb gold trim that is partially raised with more gold trim over the rich cobalt blue ground color as shown. Just an amazing look! The gilding is heavily influenced by the Art Nouveau style of the period. One of the nicest eggs I have ever seen by them! It still has its original metal stopper lid which is amazing and it even still has the original cork on it though the cork is old and has shrunk since it has been openend so many times over all these years and the stopper falls out easily if held upside down. Not realy damage and normal with age so it does not take away from the piece at all! The egg is in perfect condition! The piece is unmarked which is always the case with these eggs as there is no good spot to do so without killing the decoration. The entire piece is 3.75 inches tall including the stopper and about 2.125 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $2499
