Bird Box

This is a superb porcelain lidded box made by KPM in the beginning of the 20th century. It has a basket weave bottom that is highlighted with gilding and a lid that is in the shape and color of a nest with two birds in it nesting. One is feeding the other. Well modelled and painted to say the least. Both the bottom and the top are in perfect condition. It is marked underneath with the underglaze blue scepter mark as well as the overglaze red KPM orb mark showing it was painted by KPM. Also impressed letter B and another letter I can't quite make out (R?). The bottom has an unglazed spot that was ground down before firing it the last time to make sure it sits well on a flat surface. The box is 4.5 inches tall, 5 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep.
