Berlin Scene Plate #1

This is a rare and superb plate made by KPM in the early 20th century. It is handpainted with a scene of the Marmorpalais in the city of Potsdam in the center surrounded by a nice landscape including water, trees and bushes and even some birds flying above. A few nice floral sprigs scattered throughout with a basketweave rim and a gold trim to the edge. The plate is 1.25 inches tall and 9.625 inches in diameter. It is in great condition with four knife marks in the scene which don't distract from the piece when on display at all. It is marked underneath with the underglaze blue scepter mark, the red orb mark, the usual impressed letters and painter's marks normal to this period as well as the name of the scene in the front in black - Marmorpalais Potsdam.
