Kiebitz Bird Scene Plate

This is a really nice Art Nouveau / Jugendstil period plate made by KPM in the early 20th century. The plate is hand painted with a bird scene including a bird in full view as well as another sticking its head out of the tall grasses in a nice landscape surrounding. The rim is decorated in the Jugendstil style with raised gold scrolls as well as some leaves and flowers and a slightly greenish ground color between the scrolls which is hard to see in the pictures. A truly superb plate and it is in superb condition. The piece is just over 1 inch tall and 9.75 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter as well as the red orb mark as well as a painter's mark, some numbers and the usual impressed marks of the period as shown. The name of the bird in black script - Kiebitz which is a type of northern lapwing . Please email me for more information or other pictures.
