KPM Art Nouveau Perfume Egg

This is a very rare perfume bottle in the shape of an egg made by KPM in the late 19th or early 20th century. It is handpainted with a superb scene in the front including a temple looking structure surrounded by trees including a palm tree and agave cactus type plant and lots of nice greenery as well as the blue sky with clouds in it. It could possibly be based on the Schloss Achilleion on Corfu . The scene is heavily influenced by the Jugendstil style of the period. Nice gold trim around the scene that is partially raised with gold flowers and leaves going around the top towards the backside. Nice blue scale trim to the top more commonly seen on the Bresslauer Stadtschloss pieces that are so popular even today! One of the nicest eggs I have ever seen by them! It still has its original metal stopper lid which is amazing and it even still has the original cork on it though the cork is old and dry and has been openend so many times over all these years that someone wound some yarn around it so it fits better again. The egg is in perfect condition! The piece is unmarked which is always the case with these eggs as there is no good spot to do so without killing the decoration. The egg is 2.75 inches tall plus an inch if you include the sopper and 2.125 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
