Apple Plate

This is a plate made by KPM in the beginning of the 20th century in the Art Nouveau / Jugendstil period. Name of the apple type is written in black on the back - Alexander. It has the impressed letters C and K so it was made sometime before 1910. The plate has a neat deep cobalt blue and raised gold edge and the center is one of the best handpainted fruit still lifes I have ever seen. A pair of apples on the branch with their blossoms all around. They look real enough to eat. The plate is in perfect condition (with three small scratches on the apples that don't take away from the piece!) and is 8.25 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the underglaze blue scepter as well as the red orb mark. Also some impressed numbers, letters and painters marks by the footring. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $999
