Best Ever Weichmalerei Plate #5

This is something special. I have owned some amazing plates by KPM over the years but this one along with the other five on the site have to be the most amazing plates I have ever seen from this period in the Weichmalerei style or any other style or maker! The plate was made in the late 19th century during the Art Nouveau period plate by KPM Berlin. The entire surface of the plate is hand painted with a top notch flower design including a branch with a full set of blossoms at the end as well as leaves that might be an Azalea of sort, a bumble bee on a stalk to the right as well as three butterflies fluttering around the top center. More flowers to the sides as shown. The flowers of these plates are stunning - among the best and most lifelike to have ever been painted except for maybe those by Eduard Braunsdorf . There are also some grasses and leaves as well as lots of nice gold highlight here and there. I cannot tell you how amazing this plate looks so have a look at the picture to get an idea - though it looks much better in real life. To top it off the nicely shaped rim has raised Seger enamel "jewels" in green with some gold trim. I have not seen anything like it nor can I find any others. A truly superb plate and it is in perfect condition. The piece is 1.25 inches tall and 9.75 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the underglaze blue scepter, the red orb mark as well as a gilder's mark and the usual impressed marks of the period. This plate is fully signed by the painter E. Heinecke fec. 1889 which helps date the set perfectly. Ernst Heinecke is a well known painter of KPM - not sure if this is the same Heinecke that was director during this period.
