1891 Royal Plate

This is a rare plate made by KPM in1891. It has the royal cypher of Kaiser Wilhelm the 2nd on the back which makes this a truly fun piece with lots of history attached to it. It is hand painted with a superb center decoration of a basket that has fallen over and has flowers spilling out of it on some grass with some larger roses rising up from it. Two butterflies around this and the rim has a ring of morning glories and a nice gold trim on a raised design on it. The plate is in superb condition with just a spot on the foot ring with a chip to it as shown. It does not impact the piece on display at all even from the side. A minor touch of wear to the gilding along the edge. The plate is just over 1.25 inches tall and 9.625 inches in diameter. It is marked underneath with the under glaze blue scepter mark as well as the red orb and the royal cypher in puce underneath with the year mark 1891 plus the usual impressed and painters marks as shown.
