Battle of Leipzig Cup

This is a great cup made by KPM in the early 19th century. It is handpainted with the year 1813 in a floral design on a light peach ground surrounded by some nice gilding. The cup has a gold ring to the top and bottom and is completely gilded on the inside as well as on the outside of the handle. This is the cup for the saucer I ahve andthey amtch well but did not come together. 1813 is the year of the battle of Leipzig which was the biggest battle before WWI. It was fought on 16–19 October 1813 by the coalition armies of Russia, Prussia, Austria and Sweden against the French army of Napoleon Bonaparte. Napoleon lost and it was bascially the end of him. The cup is in good condition with a shallow chip to the right side but no hairline or anything else so it would be an easy fix for a good restorer. It is marked underneath with the underglaze blue scepter mark as well as a painters mark and the usual impressed number one finds on KPM of this period. The cup is 3.5 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
