Rare Kozlov Sugar Dish

This is a very rare piece made in Russia in about 1860. I thought it was made by a maker called Kozlov but I was told it was in fact made by another rare maker named Kiselev. Afanasii Leontevich Kiselev was previously in partnership with the brothers Fedor and Petr Terekhov. Kiselev resigned his partnership in 1851 after the death of Fedor Terekhov and set up his own factory which was in operation till the end of the 1860s. The sugar dish is quite stunning and typical of the Russian style of this period. The main body is hand painted with two large scenes with nice detail and color. Both are quite similar with buildings, trees, some water and a figure. In one he looks to be standing while in the other he seems like he's fishing. The scenes are surrounded with a nice gold trim and the rest of the piece has a white ground color with lots of nice gilding over that which is the same on the lid. Nice handles and knob. The piece is in great condition with some wear to the gilding and a glaze crack to the inside of the main piece which one cannot see from the outside. A tiny chip to the underside rim of the lid and a dent to the top edge which is from the making. The dish is marked underneath with the rare overglaze red fancy script K as shown. The sugar bowl and lid are 4.5 inches tall and 4.75 inches in diameter plus the handles. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
