Fake Kornilow Plate

This is a plate made to look like the pieces made at the Kornilov factory around 1900. It also coems from Russia but is much more modern and instead of being hand painted with an above glaze mark it is entirely tranfer printed with an underglaze printed mark. The size and colros are all off as well. Still nice to have a reference here for others to learn. The center is decorated with a nice scene from a Bilibin drawing featuring a young man, in this case a Russian prince who is looking for a pretty princess all over the world. During his journey he meets several animals in very difficult situations. He helps them and then the animals return the favors and help him reach the princess. This is one of those scenes with a frog holding an arrow on the ground in front of him. The rim is has a nice design of trees alternating with hexagons with animals in them. Yellow trim to the edge. The plate is in perfect condition. It is marked as shown in the photo. It is 8 inches in diameter and 0.875 inches tall. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
