Kiev Cup & Saucer

This is a rare cup and saucer made by the Miklaschevski factory in Kiev in the mid 19th century. The factory was considered the most important in Southern Russia in late 19th century but it only seemed to have operated from 1851 until 1862 so a rather short period. Nonetheless they made some very nice pieces here. The cup and saucer are hand painted with some sort of leaf garland design with urns as well as a lady sitting in a chair with a torch in her hand. Black trim to the edges. An interesting design different than any other I have come across though the quality of the painting isn't the best. Possibly a late example but I am unsure. Both pieces are in superb condition with some black firing spots. They are marked underneath with a red mark as shown. The cup is 2.375 inches tall and 3.5 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1.5 inches tall and 5.5 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
