Keramos Moose Figurine

This is a ceramic figurine of a moose made by Keramos from Austria in the 1930s. I don't know much about this maker but the moose was impressive and I had to have it :) The company seems to ahve been started in 1920 by veterans from WWI that got hurt in combination with artists and helped along by the state. It closed its door in 1982. They made some nice models and also redid some of the Wiener Werkstaette pieces after they closed its doors. The figurine is quite large, nicely modeled and hand painted. It's an impressive animal in real life and it shows here as well. The piece is marked on the bottom underside with their stamped mark as shown - Keramos Wien and Made in Austria. The figure is 11 inches tall, 13.75 inches long and 4.25 inches wide. The figure displays perfectly but it has a bit of the typical crazing to the base and a stress crack to the tree stump in the back where it attaches to the leg. It happens when there are foreces in the ceramic working against each other and over time they are released by forming a hairline. Not uncommon and the placement makes it not stand out at all when on display. It looks great and is not a super easy model to find. Please email me for more information or photos.
