Katzhuette Lovers Figurine

This is a figurine made by Katzhuette / Hertwig in the early 20th century. It is of two lovers dancing - one a pierrot type figurine wearing a funny hat and the other a lady dressed in a fancy outfit and holding a fan. Very much in the Art Nouveay / Jugendstil style of the period with a bouquet of roses under her skirt on the base and some nice gold trim on the base. The figurine is modeled superbly and handpainted very elegantly. The figurine is in perfect conditon. Marked underneath with the impressed cat in a house in an oval mark as well as a red 5 as a painter's mark. The piece is 8 inches tall and the base has a diameter of 4.25 inches.
