Male Musician Figurine

This is a figurine made in Italy in the 18th century probably by the Real Fabbrica Ferdinandea or Le Nove. It is made of earthenware with a glaze that has a bluish tint in the thickest areas where it has pooled during the firing. The figurine is of a gentleman playing a guitarlike instrument wearing a long coat with a fancy shirt underneath and pants that go over his knees. Typical attire of the times! The hairstyle of this figurine is typically Italian! He stands on a very fancy base with lots of fine detail to it. The piece is in good condition with the end guitar missing a piece, one finger chipped a little and some areas where the glaze is gone and the darkened eartherware colors shows through. All in all in very good condition considering this stuff is even more fragile than porcelain. The figurine is not marked but that's normal. It is 8.25 inches tall and the base is 3.375 inches wide and 3.25 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
