Italian Portrait Cup

This is a really interesting cup hand painted in Naples in the early 19th century. Looks to be a Paris blank that was decorated in Naples by the likes of Raffaele Giovine or someone like that. The piece is superbly hand painted with a portrait of Basilio Giannelli - an Italian historian and poet that was born February 1, 1662 and died by assassination on June 26, 1716. Not sure what he is famous for but it must have been something if his portrait shows up on a porcelain cup :) The portrait is of very good quality with the rest of the cup having some nice gold trim and the inside being fully gilded. The cup is in great condition with some very minor wear. It is not marked as shown with the words: Basilio Giannelli celebre Poeta storico Giureconsulto nacque in Vitulano nel 1662. mori in Naploi nel 1716. Something about a historical poet and lawyer. Not sure what exactly it says besides being born in Vitulano and dying in Naples. There is also an incised mark typical to Paris porcelain. The cup is just under 2.5 inches tall and just under 2.5 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
