Puce Scenic Cup & Saucer

This is a nice early cup and saucer made by Hoechst in their early years in about 1760. The saucer is hand painted with a large puce scene in the center including some greenery around an old building by a lake with a single bug near the rim and a gold trim to the edge. The cup is hand painted with a matching scene in the front of a building in a nice landscape surrounding. Some scattered flowers and bugs fill in the rest of the space and a flower to the bottom inside complete the cup. Gold trim to the top edges and puce trim to the handle. Both peices are in good condition with a small chip to the very edge ofthe saucer as shown which has been covered with gilding to hide it perfectly. One small spot of wear to a high point on the roof of the building in the scene of the saucer. The cup just has some very minor wear to the gilding! The saucer is marked underneath with a six spoke wheel mark in under glaze blue as well as an impressed IP as shown while the cup is unmarked. Not common for this maker but it does happen. The saucer is 1.375 inches tall and 5.25 inches in diameter and the cup is 2 inches tall and 2.625 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
