Cup & Saucer w/ Classical Portraits

This is a superb cup and saucer made by Hoechst in the 18th century. Both pieces are hand painted with a medallion including a black and white bust portrait in the classical style surrounded by a pink ground with a nice yellow design around it as well as a green wreath type design to the top and hainging down from the sides forming a loop below. A blue ribbon forms a bow at the top . Three gold flowers along the rim and two filling in the blank space of the cup. Gold trim to the edges and handle. The handle has a rare but well known Hoechst shape to it. The decoration is not something you see often and I like it quite a bit. The set is in superb condition with the tiniest of wear to the gilding mainly to one of the gold flowers of the saucer rim. Both pieces are marked underneath with the under glaze blue wheel mark with some impressed marks under the saucer. The cup is 2 inches tall and 2.375 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 4.25 inches in diameter. The bust on the saucer has a laurel wreath in the hair so it is probably a Roman emperor possibly Antoninus Pius the other one might be Emperor Augustus though I am not sure on either one.
