Hausen Early Lidded Pot

This is something a bit different. I bought it more for who made it rather than what it is. The shape appear very much like the Thuringian makers like Wallendorf or Volkstedt but in reality it is a really early example of a maker called Hausen which started in 1802. Joseph Felix Silbermann bought the Mill on the Main river and started to make porcelain at the location. After running into the usual troubles of porcelain makers the manufactury was bought by Alboth & Kaiser in 1938. Oddly enough I had never heard of this maker until today nor had I ever seen a piece with this mark. Looking at the shape of the piece one can easily assume that at least some of the workers came from the Thuringia area makers to get things started. The piece is a small lidded pot that has a ribbed design to the paste, has two nicely hand painted floral arrangements on it - one to the front and one to the back. A single flower to the lid and some puce trim to the finial and handle. During production something went wrong and it got a few cracks and flaws to it which were then covered up by little garlands of leaves which is rather interesting. A little wear to the paintings as well and the handle has a hairline across the bottom terminal but it is stable. Really a very nice and intersting piece and it was a must have to fill in a gap I had in my makers and marks. The pot is marked with the under glaze blue H as shown. The piece is about 6.25 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or photos.
