Gotha Black Script G Mark Saucer

This is a saucer made by Gotha around 1815. It is another superb example of Gotha's work - it is in the classicism style and has a hand painted ruin landscape scene in sepia (brown tones) on the inside of the saucer. It includes a ruin in the background, some bushes and a large stone with the inscription: Trink aus der Schaale der Freundschaft which translates to: Drink from this bowl of friendship. Simple gold trim around the well edge and rim edge. A nice piece with a mark one does not see often. The piece is in great condition with the most minimal of wear. The dish is marked underneath with the over glaze black script G. mark as well as the number 75. as shown. The piece is 5 inches in diameter and 1.125 inches tall. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $249
