Gotha Black Scenic Saucer

This is a saucer made by Gotha around 1790. This saucer is another superb example of Gotha's work - it is in the classicism style and has a handpainted ruin scene in schwarzlot (black) on the inside of the saucer. Nice gold trim around the scene and on the rim. The piece is in good condition with a little wear to the gold trim. The saucer is marked underneath with the underglaze blue R.g. mark, a blue number 2 and impressed 11 or something along those lines and 1005b in black which might be a former collection or museum ID. The saucer is 5 inches in diameter and 1.125 inches tall. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $399
