Gotha Scenic Plate #3

This is a great plate made by Gotha around 1868. Gotha is probably the best of the Thuringia makers in terms of quality of the paste and painting. They existed from 1757 until 1937 in one form or another. This plate is handpainted with a superb quality large scene in the center as well as a nice gold trim. The title under this scene states something like To remember your wedding anniversary April 1868. The date was messed with to make it appear to be from 1808 but we know better and won't cheat. The scene is superb and quite large and shows the city of Kaub which a friendly helper told me :) The plate is in super condition with some very minor scratches to the gold but no real wear to it. It is marked underneath with the impressed mark of a hen on a hill in an oval. Also an impressed 3K. The plate is 7.75 inches in diameter and 0.875 inches tall. Please email me for more information or photos.
