Doccia Interesting Mark Cup & Saucer

This is a cup and saucer made by Doccia / Ginori in the 19th century. The cup is decorated with biblical or mythological scenes in relief all around that are handpainted very nicely. It has a twisted branch handle with leaves at the ends and the saucer is decorated with floral garlands connected by a nice shell design. Nice gold trim to the rims. The set is in great condition with cracks in the top part of the handle as shown. It does not affect the piece at all. A bit of gold wear to the edge. The saucer is marked with the common crown over N mark copied so often by other makers from this original but the cup has an unusual mark of impressed GINORI with a star behind it. I don't think I have ever seen this combo before. Probably dates the cup to the early 1860's when the star mark was phased out and the Ginori mark came into use. The cup is 2.5 inches tall and about 3.375 inches in diameter. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 5.5 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
