Ginori Scenic Plate

This is a rare scenic plate made by Doccia / Ginori in about 1770. It is handpainted with detailed landscape scene in brown similar to the faience of Castelli , Italy. The pattern is called Fiesole . There is also a nice leaf gold trim to the edge of the center and a nice blue and gold trim to the rim of the plate. The plate is in perfect condition! It is unmarked which is very common. The story behind the plate is neat as well. They were given to an American soldier by an Italian count when he was part of the liberation of Italy during the war. The note from the son is still on the back of the plate. The plate is 0.875 inches tall and 9.5 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $1749
