Doccia / Ginori Relief Scene Tankard #2

This is a superb scenic lidded stein / tankard made by Doccia / Richard Ginori in the mid to late 19th century. An amazing piece that has their signature relief biblical / mythological scenes all around the central part of the body all hand painted to perfection and very detailed with a colorful trim to the bottom including a blue and gold "pearl" trim along the bottom. Top edge has a gold line to it coming out of the entirely gilded interior and the bottom edge is gilded as well. The lid has their typical floral garland and bows design to the rim with a large lion with its paw on a vase finial. The handle is amazing but a bit strange - a camel's haed with nude breasts below it. The metal fitting are bronze or brass. Precision work on the mounts since when the lid is open the thumb rest sits right on top of the camel's head. A proper container for your evening beer! The piece is marked with the under glaze blue letter N under a crown mark as shown. The entire stein including the lid is about 9.25 and it has a bottom diameter of 4 inches. The tankard is in perfect condition with just some gold wear on the edge of the bottom. A superb piece that is hard to find! Comes with a bit of provenance as well as shown.
