Doccia G Mark Cup & Saucer

This is a demitasse cup and saucer made by Doccia / Ginori in the 19th century. The cup is decorated with biblical or mythological scenes in relief all around that are hand painted very nicely. It has a twisted branch handle with leaves at the ends and the saucer is decorated with floral garlands connected by a nice shell design. Nice gold trim to the rims. The set is in perfect condition. The saucer is marked with the common crown over N mark copied so often by other makers from this original (and often msitakenly called Capodimonte )as well as two incised lines. The interesting mark and one I ahve not seen before is underneath the cup - A capital G with a star above it in udner glaze blue. The cup is 1.75 inches tall and about 2.625 inches in diameter.
