Doccia Interesting Mark Plate

This is a fun plate made by Doccia / Ginori in the late 19th century or early 20th century. One rarely ever sees plates in this style and judging by the gold footring which was generally reserved for very important pieces it must be rather special. The real reason I bought this piece though was for the marks. The plate is superbly decorated with raised scenes all along the rim that are quite detailed and very well painted. Nice gold trim to the edge as well as to the outside of the well and a nice gold flower to the center. The piece is in good condition with a little wear to the gilding and a tiny restoration to one of the point of the edge of the plate. You can see it above the tree with the horses running by the fire. The plate is 1.125 inches tall and has a diameter of 8.625 inches. It is marked with an underglaze crown over the letter N underneath as well as Made in Italy but the thing I have not seen before is the added sentence - richard - Ginori Sole owner of this Trade Mark. They must have been getting really pissy about the Dresden area makers using this mark. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
