Ginori Khedive Teapot

This is an extremely rare teapot made by Doccia / Richard Ginori around 1900 I believe. It is hand painted with a famous decoration designed by Gaetano Lodi between 1873 and 1875 for the Egyptian Khedive ( Viceroy during the Turkish occupation) which looks quite stunning and is definitely very Egyptian :) They made a few more pieces later on but they are extremely rare and very much collected due to the obviously stunning design. The tea pot is decorated with the most colorful version with the red, green, yellow, blue and gold colors. I have only ever seen one other main piece from this service except in my books so finding this teapot was super exciting! Like I said a very rare design with some nice history. The pot is in superb condition with some very minor wear to the gilding. The lid is missing that extra little finial piece as shown. I was lucky enough to have owned another similar pot years ago and it had that piece reglued so a fragile part of the lid. I included that picture to show the shape, etc. so that should you wish you could get it restored easily! The piece is displays superbly as is and the fix would be easy and cheap. You won't find another one so this is your chance! The pot is marked underneath with a gold Ginori Italia mark, a red 1025 and a green GINORI under a D. The gold mark was used for Ginori 's highest end pieces. This tea pot is 5 inches tall, 9 inches from spout to handle and 4.25 inches wide. I also own the matching creamer and sugar dish which are shown on the site as well. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
