Studentika Pipe Bowl #1

This is a porcelain pipe bowl made in Germany in the early to mid 19th century. More than likely made by Nathusius / Althaldensleben . Probably a piece of studentika that was given from one person to another as a gift. It has the name W. Voigt on the backside but the front has this amazing hand painted armorial / coat of arms design to it. Probably a family coat of arms of the receiver of the pipe. The design is quite nice in mainly blue, iron red and gold tones with a knight's helmet in the top center with three flowers growing out the top flanked by a set of silver wings. The pipe is in superb condition and does not look to have been smoked. Larger in size than many being 5.75 inches tall and 1.5 inches in diameter. It is marked with the impressed number 10 which I believe is a size reference as well as the blue line across the bottom end known to be the mark for Nathusius. Please e-mail me for more information or photos.
