German Butzbach Scenic Pipe

This is a pipe bowl madein Germany in the first half of the 19th century. Most likely by Nathusius of Althaldensleben or possibly Ilmenau but hard to tell without a mark. Definitely German from this period. The porcelain pipe bowl is hand painted with a nice scene of the German city of Butzbach which lies just North of Frankfurt and South of Hessen. A very charming little city! The scene goes around 3/4 of the bowl and is of a good quality with lots of detail to it as shown. It is edged with agold trim all around and the name of the scene in black script underneath. The pipe was used and there is a little residue at the very bottom of the inside but it is otherwise nice and clean. The piece is unmarked which is pretty common. It is 5.125 inches tall and has a diameter of 1.375 inches. The piece is in great condition with wear to the gold trim frame around the scene. Otherwise no issues.
