Blue Onion Hourglass

This is a super rare blue onion hour glass made in Germany during the 19th century. I have never come across one until I found one by the top German maker years ago which is much larger. Never by any good other porcelain maker so it was nice to come across this one. A find for anyone colelcting blue onion or blue and white kitchen items. The piece is made up of an outer shell of porcelain with the glass part filled with sand sitting inside held in by cork at either end. One of the porcelain ends was added after the glass was added with a small seem to that spot. The thin sides have the blue onion design hand painted on it and there is blue trim to the end pieces. One side has a gold number 692 on it which was added later. The hourglass is 3.625 inches tall with a diameter of 1.875 inches. It is in perfect condition. Seems to be for 3 minutes - not sure what that timer could be used for. Unmarked but definitely German from the 19th century. Please email me for more information or photos.
