Parrot Shaped Knife Handle

This is a really fun knife with the handle made of porcelain. It is certainly German from the 18th century but I cannot find anything like it. From the quality and colors I would say it is either Frankenthal or Nymphenburg, the latter being my bet. Either way the piece is superbly modeled in the form of a parrot / bird with the head being painted quite colorfully. Each side of the body has a nice hand painted scene to it in green. One side has a pair of beavers with their lodge / den in a landscape surrounding while the other side has two deer to it also in a nice landscape. The scenes are surrounded by a gold trim and there are a couple of tiny flowers filling in the rest of the space. Probably the most fun knife handle I ahve ever come across! The knife blade and tang are both made of silver and a later addition. They were made in 1852 in Birmingham in the UK by a watch maker named John Harris if I am correct with Idying the marks. The knife is in perfect condition and is 7.125 inches long. The handle is about 2.5 inches long. A truly superb example! Please email me for more information or photos.
