George Jones Pate sur Pate Vase #2

This is a really nice vase made by George Jones in England in the late 19th century. Typical shape for this maker the flattened baluster form and typical design in the form of a young lady swinging on a tree branch using a vine garland. The design is done in the difficult and superb pâte-sur-pâte technique. Pate-sur-pate pieces are highly sought after! Here it was done on an olive green ground with a nice pate sur pate design around the neck and foot of the vase. The best part off course is a girl in a swing scene to the front. Some superb detail to the scene and that translucency of the pate sur pate makes it even more stunning! Some well palced gold trim to the top and bottom make this a very elegant piece! Probably done by Frederick Schenk though he did not sign this piece here - sadly. The piece is in superb condition without any chips, etc. Just a firing flaw to the very bottom edge which is nearly impossible to spot when on display since it is recessed from the gold trimmed edge. The vase is 10.125 inches tall, 7 inches wide and 4.25 inches deep. Unmarked but that is fairly normal for this maker. No question about who made the piece because of the green ground, shape of the vase and the design. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
