Gardner Red Ground Saucer

This is a superb saucer made by Gardner / Moscow in the 19th century. A really nice one with the red / maroon ground color with some nice gold trim over it. a white leaf design along the nicely shaped edge and of course the floral arrangement in the center. Reminds me more of another Russian maker Popov but I guess like anywhere else in the world they all used the designs that sold best during any given period i their countries :) A very elegant piece that is in great condition with some minimal stacking wear on the high parts of the ridges around the well. It is marked underneath with their mark as shown - not a mark one sees too often as well as two under glaze blue circles, a red number 317 and a gold line on the foot ring. Tapahepz impressed into the paste. The saucer is 1 inch tall and 5.875 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.

Price is $499
