Gardner Popov Style Saucer

This is a superb saucer made by Gardner / Moscow in the 19th century. This style I am more used to seeing from another Russian maker Popoff but I guess like anywhere else in the world they all used the designs that sold best during any given period :) The sacer is handpainted with some superb floral arrangements on an olive colored ground that gradually goes from being rather dark in the center to much lighter on the rim. A nice effect! Some nice gold trim finishes off one elgant piece! The saucer is in great condition with two very small chips to the rim and a little wear to the gilding - neither takes away from the piece! It is marked underneath with the red Tapahepz mark as well as a red 343, an impressed 4 and 34 and a gold mark that looks like a tiny fish standing on its head :) The saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 5.375 inches in diameter. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
