Gardner Balalaika Musician Figurine

This is a bit of a treat - a figurine made by Gardner / Moscow in the early 19th century. It is of a musician playing a Balalaika sort of like a traditional guitar instrument. A superbly modeled and hand painted figure of a very nice quality. Very much in the style of the period in terms of clothes, etc. The gentleman is stainding on a natural base with a tree stump in the back, is dressed in traditional shoes, blue pants and a long shirt. His face is especially detailed with the beard. The figurine is in decent condition with the top end of the instrument missing, something missing that was sitting on top of the stump, a piece of the base in front of his right foot was broken off and was just reglued and some chips in that area along the edge. Nothing that can't be fixed but he is not perfect if that is what you are looking for. Displays nicely and is quite rare so definitely worth the trip to the restorer! The piece is marked underneath with the impressed Saint George slaying the dragon mark as well as TAPAHEPZ (or Gardner in cyrillic letters) and an impressed number 3. The figurine is 5.5 inches tall, 3.625 inches wide and 3 inches deep. Please email me for more information or other pictures.
