Urn Medallion Plate

This is a plate made by Fuerstenberg in about 1790. It is handpainted with a nice medallion in the center that has an urn on a pedestal in it made to look like a plaque hanging by a puce bow. Nice puce ring around the bowl part with a garland of leaves. The rim has gilding on it which makes the whole plate look very nice. The plate is marked with the underglaze blue F mark underneath as well as an incised S2and an underglaze 2. An incised cross is under the F mark - I am not sure what that means but I see it fairly often on Fuerstenberg pieces of this period. Maybe it denotes a second choice? The plate is 1.75 inches tall and 9.25 inches in diameter so a nice size. The plate is in great condition with a bit of wear to mostly the gilding on the rim. There is also a glazed over chip to the footring from the making. Please email me for more information or photos.
