Reticulated Strainer Basket

This is a reticulated basket made by Fuerstenberg in about 1770. It is handpainted with a nice floral arrangement on the inside bottom as well as four small scattered flowers, a brown trim to the edge and a fancy brown trim to the feet. Nice green trim and blue flowers on the outside. The unusual thing is that is has holes pierced in the entire bottom part so liquid could run out or for better airflow. The piece displays nicely but sadly one side with the handle has broken out at some point and was restored using staples. The covering material has turned grey over time and is thus more obvious. Could easily be fixed up to perfection if so desired. The basket sits on four feet. It is 3.125 inches tall plus the handles which add another 1.125 inches and 7.5 inches in diameter. Marked on the inside side with an upside down script F mark and on the underside with an impressed No. 3 (a size reference) over B. Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $499
