Scenic Needlecase

This is a superb sewing / needle case (I guess it could have been for some funky glasses too) made by Fuerstenberg in the late 18th century. It is handpainted with some superb scenes as well as flowers and has silver mountings. The flowers and small bugs are typical for 18th century Fuerstenberg of this period as are the scenes. One is of a gentleman holding a falcon and the other side is of a lady holding a fan (I think) and wearing a nice dress. Both are surrounded by a landscape type scene. There is also a bit of a relief design to the paste which might be hard to see in the photos. The piece is not marked but there is no doubt to it being made by them during this period! It is in supeb condition with a few tiny scratches but they are limited to the white areas and do not affect the scenes or other paintings. The hinge is a tiny bit loose but it closes tightly and all is well. The sewing case is 4.25 inches tall, 1.625 inches wide and 1.125 inches deep. A very nice piece and quite the rare find! Please email me for more information or photos.
