Scenic Biedermeier Cup & Saucer

This is a cup and saucer made by Fuerstenberg during the Biedermeier period around the early 19th century. The cup is very nicely hand painted with a scene to the front of amazingly nice quality for this maker. It is some sort of religious painting with a saint (I think) holding an open book as well as a scroll with a cup out of which a snake rises and an eagle holding a feather in the background above. Not sure what painting this is from or who this picture depicts but it is really well done. The scene is surrounded by a gold trim frame with more gilding along the outside and inside rim, the foot and the handle that has a nice shape to it. The saucer has a matching gold trim. The cup is about 3.5 inches tall without the handle which sticks up another 0.75 inches and has a diameter of 3.125 inches. The saucer is 1.25 inches tall and 5.625 inches in diameter. Both are in super condition with some very minor age related wear to the gilding. Each is marked with the under glaze blue script F mark as well as a blue 35 / 36 and some incised / impressed marks as shown. Please email me for more information or photos.
