Scenic Fork #2

This is a very rare fork with the pistol grip shaped porcelain handle made by Fuerstenberg in the 18th century. The metal parts are original to the piece which is always nice. The handle is hand painted with a scene to either side including a building, trees, a person and some greenery - a very typical design for this maker and there is a whole service with scenes like this. There are also two flowers on the end, a gold and orange garland design to the top and bottom and a relief floral design to the end that is closest to the metal parts. The ferrule appears to be silver while the tines are steel or iron. A fun piece and not something you can find easily by this maker at all. The piece is in great condition with some wear as well as oxidation. The fork is 8.375 inches long with the porcelain part being 3.375 inches long, 1 inch tall and 0.75 inches wide. No visible mark but certainly made by them during this period. Please email me for more information or photos.
