Eisentraeger Scenic Teapot

This is a really nice early tea / coffee pot made made by Fuerstenberg in the 18th century probably mid to late 1750's. It is hand painted with a puce scene that is amazingly detailed and was painted by Johann Heinrich Eisenträger who was one of the best painters except for Pascha Weitsch that they had during this early period. In terms of detail and quality of a scene it does not come much better by this maker! There are so many details to the scene, lots of buildings and greenery but the people and guy riding a horse over a bridge is my favorite part for sure! Possibly a scene from the surrounding towns where this maker was located but I am not sure. Nice C-scroll handle shape and some relief design to the spout plus a bit of gold trim. Flowers to the backside of the pot. The pot is marked with the under glaze blue F mark underneath as well as incised letters Z W as shown. The pot is 6.75 inches tall and about 4.25 inches in diameter. It is in superb condition with just a few minor scratches, a touch of wear to the gilding and some chipping along the foot ring as shown. More than likely it had a lid which I do not have but the quality fo the scene easily makes up for this shortfall! Please email me for more information or photos.

Price is $999
