Pre 1760 Pumpkin Solitaire

This is a very early and superb solitaire made by Furstenberg during the very beginning of their existence pre 1760. The pieces have some amazing shapes to them with lots of relief details. Probably the most unusual and neatest little set I have ever come across. The set is made up of a tiny lidded pot, a lidded cup with a leaf saucer, a lidded creamer and a lidded sugar dish. The lid of the cup and sugar dish each have a slot opening to fit a spoon. So it was probably meant as a hot chocolate set but could also be for tea or coffee. The designs is amazing. The teapot has an angular relief design all around - not sure if it meant to be a melon or pumpkin of some sort. It has a branch handle to one side with applied leaves to the terminals. The lid has a branch finial with a smaller and a larger leaf to it and a piece of the branch going down the lid and then onto the main body. There are two more leaves in relief along the way. A leaf also covers the front of the spout. The creamer has a similar relief design to the outside. Its lid has a branch finial with two small leaves to it while the main body has a small leaf to the sides, a leaf to either terminal of the handle and a larger leaf covering the underside of the spout. The sugar dish has a lid with a branch finial with a large as well as a small leaf to it while the main body has a small leaf to either terminal of the handle. The rest of the body has this rough relief design to it - more like a pumpkin than the others. It has a branch handle to one side with leaves at either terminal. The cup has a similar design to the sugar dish just smaller and more oval. he outside is not as rough but it is not like the pot or creamer outside. The lid has a branch finial with a smaller and a larger leaf to it and the main body has a branch handle with leaves to the terminals. The saucer is in the shape of a leaf that has a nice deep shape and has lots of molded details to it. There is a smaller leaf towards the terminal that overlaps the larger leaf. A branch forms a handle to one side. This entire set is just super neat. In good condition considering the age and fragile nature. There is damage to the leaves of the finials on the lids on all but the creamer. The saucer is perfect which is amazing. The lids have some small chipping around the edges as does the spout of the pot but all in all in amazing shape and nothing a decent restorer could not bring back to perfection with ease. The pieces are marked as shown. The cup only has incised marks and the creamer and pot are only marked under the lids with the under glaze blue F mark. You won't find anything remotely similar ever again that is for sure. I took 59 photos so have a look at them - it's better than any description! Please email me for more information or photos.
